  3. Game 2:
The Reds host the 0-2 nationals at home in hoping to bounce back from two tough road losses. The first game was very exciting. Entering the bottom of the seventh, the score was 2-2, Matt Carpenter stepped up to the plate. He kick started with a double, and was driven in by Carlos Gonzalez. Tony Cingrani picks up his first win of the season, as Jordan Zimmerman takes the loss.

    Game 2:
Break out your brooms Reds fans! The Reds cruised straight to victory as Steven Strausburg gave up 3 runs in the bottom of the first. Meanwhile Johnny Cueto only gave up 2 runs over the course of 8 innings as he gets the win. The Reds played great baseball as they manufactured insurance runs at the end of the game, bunting Gregor Blsnco (who got a pinch-hit double) to third, then bringing him in with a sac fly. Steve Cishek made his first appearance of the season and got the save despite giving up a solo home run.

  4. Dodgers vs Reds:

    Game 1:

A dominating performance by Clayton Kershaw helps the dodgers beat the Reds 6-0. Clayton was supported by a two run homer from Yasiel Puig and solo shot from Hanley Ramirez. The Reds offense has yet to score a run on the road, and seem to be hampered by the dreaded strike out. Which killed about four RBI opportunities during the game. Homer Bailey struggled and picked up his second loss of the season

    LP: Homer Bailey

    Game 2:

Stunning comeback by Dodgers helps them sweep the Red's out of LA. Everything was going well for the Reds. Matt Latos was on fire, dazzling through 6 scoreless innings. The Red's finally scored a run on the road, picking up three through 6. There was fear in the reds when the Dodgers struck with two runs in the bottom of the 7. The reds answered however, with a 3 run moon shot off the bat of Carlos Gonzales. But the bottom of the 8th proved to be miserable for the Reds, as the Dodgers offense caught fire. Scoring 6 runs to take an 8-6 lead off Latos. They would go on to hold that lead.

    LP: Matt Latos

  5. We live and die by the long ball. Today, the Reds offense was unable to manufacture a single run against Cardinal's starting pitcher, Shelby Miller. Meanwhile Starlin Castro and Matt Weiters combined for three home runs and all six runs scored in this game. Tony Cingrani got his first loss of the season as the Reds fall to the Cardinals 6-0.

The Reds bounce back! The first four innings of this game seemed too familiar for the Reds as they were unable to score and gave up another home run from Matt Weiters, but in the very next inning Carlos Gonzalez led off with yet another home run. This was later followed by a base clearing, two-RBI double by Jay Bruce to give the Reds the lead. The Cardinals didn't score again as Cueto racked up another win and Steve Cishek got another save.

  6. The Reds offense continues to manufacture runs. After facing the best pitcher in the Braves' rotation, the bats came alive for the reds. The key to this first game of the series was strategy. The Reds driven runs on four consecutive hit and run plays with runners on first and third. Tony Cingrani easily gets the win, and Gregor Blanco came in to close out the game. Carlos Santana easily had his best game of the season as he hit two doubles, a home run, and drove in 4 runs.

    WP: Cingrani (2-1)

The second game was just more of the same for the Reds. Neither team scored for the first three innings of the game, but in the bottom of the fourth, Johnny Cueto helped himself out by hitting a two-run single, driving in Jay Bruce and Carlos Santana. The next inning Jean Segura hit a two-run triple! The Reds went on to sweep the braves with a point differential of +13. Johnny Cueto remains perfect in the season.

    WP: Cueto (3-0)

  7. Reds vs Braves:

    1rst Game

    Loss H Bailey
    WP: Tanner Roark

The Reds offense goes quiet as Tanner Roark dazzles over 7 innings. The reds only managed to pick up 5 hits in this frustrating loss to the Braves, who pushed across 5 runs on 11 hits. The Braves picked up 2 runs in the top of the first off if two sac flys and never looked back holding the lead all the way through. Tanner Roark who had previously ripped the hearts out of the Reds front office when the braves moved one pick ahead of the Reds to steal Roark, had reds fans cursing at their TV's with his beautiful work. The Red's need to pick up the final game of this series to improve their playoff position.

    2nd Game:

    WP M Latos
    LP MINOR

The Reds put themselves in good position for the playoffs with a critical win in Turner Field. The Reds chased Mike Minor after 3 innings thanks to 3 in the bottom of the 1rst. Matt Carpenter stepped up with 2 hits, 2 runs, and 2 RBIs, Carlos Gonzales went yard, and Joey Votto didn't get out while adding 2 runs. Latos worked to get through eight innings with only three runs, allowing 13 base runners. Gregor Blanco pitched a scoreless ninth to wrap up the win.

  8. The Reds hosted the Texas Rangers today in the first game of a two-game series. Tony Cingrani played very well on the whole, but he allowed two solo shots from Daniel Murphy and Travis Wood which ended up being the difference in the game. The Reds only had three hits throughout the entire game, resulting in a devastating 0-2 loss.

    LP: Cingrani (2-2)

The Reds come back in hopes of splitting the series with the Rangers. The Reds struck early, scoring in the bottom of the first inning of the game. Matt Carpenter drove in Jose Altuve on a sacrifice fly. However the Rangers struck back, scoring a run in the fourth and the fifth inning. Johnny Cueto got his first loss of the season even though he only gave up two runs. The Rangers held the Reds to just six hits in two games. The Reds will host the 1st place Dodgers tomorrow in hopes of keeping their playoff hopes alive.

    LP: Cueto (3-1)

  9. Reds vs Pirates:

    Game 1:

    LP: Bailey

Matt More goes 9 shutout innings as the Pirates beat the A's. The Reds couldn't manage to push across a run against the Pirates, loosing 4-0 in disappointing fashion. Reds fans had excitement from the first pitch when Jose Altuve ripped a double off the right-center wall, but two pop-ups and a strikeout by Joey Votto killed the short lived rally. Homer Bailey pitched well enough to get the win but had no support from his offense. The Red's managed to put runners on base almost all game but weren't able to capitalize with runners in scoring position.

    Game 2:

    WP: Latos

The Reds get to Chris Sale early to manage a split in Pittsburgh. Three runs in the third helped get to the Pirates ace. From there the runs just kept coming, finishing the game 7-1. Every player on the Red's lineup helped the cause, either with a base-hit, sacrifice, or RBI. Matt Latos did his part by holding the Pirates to just 1 run over 8 strong innings. This win helps the reds get back on track in their quest to make the playoffs in a tight NL race.

  10. Reds vs Dodgers

    Game 1:

What a day to be a Reds fan! A close 3-2 win over the number 1 seed Dodgers has the team in a new emotional state after a tough sweep by the Rangers. The first inning was a tough one as Marco Scuatro led off with a triple a was knocked in off a next pitch single by Yasiel Puig. However that was half the runs they would push across for the entire game. With a season changing game on the line the Reds scored a run in the fourth, fifth, and sixth inning. They took the lead and never looked back. However the dodgers wouldn't go down without a fight as they threatened with a late rally in the 9th. How're the rally ended when Steve Cishek struck out the 27th out of the game. The win allows the Reds to control their own destiny for the playoffs.

    WP: Bailey

    Game 2:

In a game that could potentially have no meaning the Red's gut out another close win. With a Pirates win earlier in the day the game tomorrow will be a play in game for the playoffs no matter what the outcome of this game is, however when the Reds won they kept their hopes alive for the first seed. With a Red's win tomorrow and a Dodgers loss the Reds claim the first seed, with a Reds win and Dodgers win the Reds play the Braves in a wild card play in game, and hopefully we don't encounter this situation but a loss tomorrow sends us home weeping. This 3-2 win today makes the Red's RED hot coming off a sweep of the best team in the NL. The Dodgers put up 2 runs in the 4th inning, giving the Red's every reason to give up. However they wouldn't go away, putting up 2 runs in the 6th and 1 in the 7th to take the lead and take the sweep. Tomorrow's game is for all the marbles so come early and come loud! GO REDS!

    WP: Latos
