Game One
In what was expected to be a pitcher’s duel, the Braves and
Dodgers had a slugfest in their first game. Clayton Kershaw and Tanner Roark,
the respected aces of both teams, each gave up 5+ runs in their season debut.
The Dodgers took an early lead with a homer from Navarro and a 3-run blast from
Goldschmidt. The Braves game surging back with homers from Werth and Braun. At
the end of the game, the Braves mounted a comeback but were stopped short by
Kershaw who pitched a full nine innings.

Game Two
The second game of the series had a slow start, but a wild
finish. Greinke pitched for the Dodgers and Mike Minor for the Braves. The
Dodgers jumped to a three run lead with a homerun from Holliday and two RBIs
from Martin Prado. In the eighth inning, however, the Braves pounced and scored
four runs off of the Dodger’s reliever, Rex Brothers. With a one run lead going
into the ninth, the Dodgers faced David Carpenter, one of the best relievers in
the game. Kimbrel shut down the Dodgers and earned his first save of the
season.
