The opening series for the Indians went much as expected. Facing a suspect Texas team, they took care of business, finishing 2-0. The first game pitted Cleveland ace Max Scherzer against the Rangers' David Price. Colby Rasmus went two for four, including a two-run shot in the first inning. Kipness added another dinger while Kyle Seager and Robinson Cano also tallied RBIs. In the second leg, Ubaldo Jiminez pitched a complete game, giving up only one run. Poor defense allowed the Indians to capitalize in the seventh inning, scoring four of their five runs and putting the game away.
